The best performers of the session on the DAX were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which rose 4.60% or 1.635 points to trade at 37.215 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) added 4.54% or 10.65 points to end at 245.30 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 4.51% or 3.80 points to 88.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 35.42% or 1.700 points to trade at 3.100 at the close. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) added 0.23% or 0.020 points to end at 8.850 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was up 0.94% or 0.79 points to 84.70.
The top performers on the MDAX were Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist AG (DE:B4B) which rose 6.01% to 8.6780, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was up 5.86% to settle at 6.464 and Hochtief AG (DE:HOTG) which gained 4.70% to close at 82.50.
The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 2.20% to 102.400 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which lost 0.80% to settle at 42.28 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 0.27% to 299.200 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which rose 11.49% to 22.900, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was up 4.03% to settle at 92.850 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which gained 3.76% to close at 63.550.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 35.42% to 3.100 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which lost 2.20% to settle at 102.400 and S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which was down 1.60% to 23.30 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 526 to 148 and 63 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.01% to 30.32.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.55% or 9.85 to $1789.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.95% or 0.38 to hit $40.20 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.33% or 0.56 to trade at $42.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1234, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.9012.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 97.265.
