The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM), which rose 3.07% or 0.72 points to trade at 24.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (PA:WLN) added 2.50% or 1.88 points to end at 77.08 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 2.33% or 0.52 points to 22.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX), which fell 2.72% or 3.20 points to trade at 114.25 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.70% or 0.19 points to end at 11.00 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was down 1.66% or 0.57 points to 33.98.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which rose 5.77% to 10.36, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was up 5.19% to settle at 73.40 and SCOR SE (PA:SCOR) which gained 4.01% to close at 24.40.
The worst performers were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 5.65% to 37.160 in late trade, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which lost 3.85% to settle at 7.88 and Natixis (PA:CNAT) which was down 3.29% to 2.33 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 309 to 264 and 76 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 11.49% to 29.54.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.07% or 19.05 to $1800.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.20% or 0.08 to hit $39.62 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.62% or 0.26 to trade at $41.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1244, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.9083.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 97.308.
