Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.54%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.54%, while the MDAX index added 0.57%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.42%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 4.90% or 4.835 points to trade at 103.590 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 1.96% or 0.590 points to end at 30.765 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) was up 1.95% or 0.950 points to 49.600 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which fell 1.87% or 1.66 points to trade at 86.92 at the close. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) declined 1.63% or 0.170 points to end at 10.290 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) was down 1.37% or 1.87 points to 134.61.

The top performers on the MDAX were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which rose 3.88% to 74.90, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was up 3.86% to settle at 89.90 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 3.16% to close at 25.120.

The worst performers were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was down 3.45% to 10.2100 in late trade, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which lost 3.40% to settle at 35.26 and Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which was down 2.49% to 7.04 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which rose 4.90% to 103.590, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was up 4.47% to settle at 26.160 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 3.16% to close at 25.120.

The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 0.99% to 38.160 in late trade, Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which lost 0.94% to settle at 38.045 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 0.93% to 23.530 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 371 to 298 and 69 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.65% to 37.25.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.02% or 0.35 to $1736.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.63% or 0.24 to hit $38.14 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.16 to trade at $40.80 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1235, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.8956.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 97.142.
