France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.49%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.49%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.53%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 4.67% or 2.56 points to trade at 57.34 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 4.46% or 0.41 points to end at 9.53 and Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) was up 4.30% or 3.96 points to 96.16 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 1.44% or 2.15 points to trade at 147.15 at the close. Legrand SA (PA:LEGD) declined 1.11% or 0.70 points to end at 62.50 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) was down 1.00% or 0.62 points to 61.24.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES (PA:SESFd) which rose 8.73% to 6.80, Eutelsat Communications SA (PA:ETL) which was up 5.03% to settle at 9.78 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which gained 4.67% to close at 57.34.

The worst performers were Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which was down 4.55% to 2.02 in late trade, Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which lost 3.96% to settle at 179.40 and BIC (PA:BICP) which was down 2.10% to 45.72 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 317 to 268 and 86 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 11.34% to 38.40 a new 1-month high.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.09% or 1.60 to $1738.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.30% or 0.11 to hit $36.45 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.09% or 0.42 to trade at $38.97 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.1236, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8993.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 97.280.
