‘The failure to expose the American people to these rambling displays of incoherence, ineptitude, and forgetfulness is depriving voters of a clear picture of Biden’s inability to execute the duties of the office he seeks.’

That’s from an email sent out on Thursday by Brad Parscale, Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign manager, urging the media to “stop protecting Biden” and air the events that might show the former vice president in an unflattering light.

What exactly does the Trump campaign have in mind? Clips like this:

The internet, of course, was quick to flag irony:

We’ll see how this approach, which promises only to gain momentum as the campaign pushes ahead, works out. Parscale certainly has a knack for drawing attention. Last month, for instance, he fired off this tweet, which went viral, and not necessarily in a good way:

The internet was there to remind Parscale of what ultimately happened in the original story and pushed “Death Star” to the top of Twitter’s TWTR, -6.00% trending list in the process.

Politics is a nasty business, and, clearly, it’s only going to get nastier in the coming months.
