Investing.com — U.S. stock markets opened mixed on Tuesday as the wave of sometimes violent protests in response to the killing of an unarmed black man by policy weighed on hopes for a successful reopening of the U.S. economy as the Covid-19 pandemic eases.

By 9:35 AM ET (1335 GMT), the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 78 points, or 0.3%, while the S&P 500 edged 0.1% higher. The Nasdaq Composite, however inched slightly lower by 0.1%.
