The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 5.65% or 5.025 points to trade at 94.030 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) added 5.42% or 0.502 points to end at 9.770 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was up 4.79% or 4.84 points to 105.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p), which fell 1.96% or 2.76 points to trade at 138.00 at the close. Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) declined 1.56% or 0.555 points to end at 35.070 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) was down 1.06% or 1.79 points to 166.97.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 7.87% to 69.200, Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was up 5.34% to settle at 51.92 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which gained 4.83% to close at 85.96.
The worst performers were Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which was down 3.65% to 35.94 in late trade, Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which lost 1.92% to settle at 73.380 and United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was down 1.91% to 36.880 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 7.87% to 69.200, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was up 5.65% to settle at 94.030 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which gained 4.75% to close at 91.450.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was down 1.91% to 36.880 in late trade, Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which lost 1.25% to settle at 16.098 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 1.00% to 9.516 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 465 to 226 and 51 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.39% or 6.60 to $1717.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.84% or 1.26 to hit $34.07 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 5.43% or 1.88 to trade at $36.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.1090, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8986.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.70% at 98.362.
