At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.76% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 1.63%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS), which rose 4.86% or 34.60 points to trade at 746.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Air Liquide SA (PA:AIRP) added 3.70% or 4.30 points to end at 120.45 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was up 3.50% or 8.80 points to 260.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN), which fell 2.71% or 0.39 points to trade at 13.92 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) declined 2.69% or 0.74 points to end at 26.80 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was down 2.67% or 0.60 points to 21.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Biomerieux SA (PA:BIOX) which rose 7.52% to 124.40, Metropole Television SA (PA:MMTP) which was up 6.40% to settle at 10.64 and Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) which gained 5.87% to close at 72.15.
The worst performers were SCOR SE (PA:SCOR) which was down 5.29% to 23.62 in late trade, Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which lost 4.39% to settle at 6.20 and Edenred SA (PA:EDEN) which was down 3.56% to 38.18 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 401 to 179 and 68 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.40% to 28.63.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.55% or 9.40 to $1720.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.47% or 1.14 to hit $33.95 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 5.32% or 1.84 to trade at $36.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.72% to 1.1082, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8982.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 98.407.
