President Donald Trump on Friday declared houses of worship “essential” and called on governors to allow churches, synagogues and mosques to open, threatening to override state leaders if they fail to comply.
“The governors need to do the right thing and allow these very important essential places of faith to open, right now, for this weekend,” Trump said at the White House. “If they don’t do it, I will override the governors.”
