At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.05%, while the MDAX index declined 0.19%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn), which rose 3.59% or 0.960 points to trade at 27.705 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) added 3.38% or 0.308 points to end at 9.408 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 2.22% or 0.141 points to 6.506 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 5.05% or 4.620 points to trade at 86.820 at the close. Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) declined 2.64% or 4.13 points to end at 152.16 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) was down 1.52% or 0.640 points to 41.510.
The top performers on the MDAX were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which rose 13.33% to 11.0500, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was up 4.83% to settle at 156.300 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 4.12% to close at 293.000.
The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was down 15.21% to 4.115 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 6.32% to settle at 86.000 and Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which was down 5.82% to 51.32 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which rose 4.83% to 156.300, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 4.12% to settle at 293.000 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which gained 3.63% to close at 81.000.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 6.53% to 7.010 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 6.32% to settle at 86.000 and RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was down 5.05% to 27.460 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 364 to 297 and 79 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.54% to 30.63 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.56% or 9.45 to $1707.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 7.91% or 1.91 to hit $26.05 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.16% or 0.64 to trade at $30.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.0853, while EUR/GBP rose 0.92% to 0.8837.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 99.950.
