At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.15%, while the MDAX index lost 0.15%, and the TecDAX index added 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 5.21% or 0.877 points to trade at 17.700 at the close. Meanwhile, Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) added 2.26% or 2.010 points to end at 91.050 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was up 2.00% or 1.430 points to 72.820 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG), which fell 5.73% or 3.070 points to trade at 50.535 at the close. Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) declined 5.01% or 4.335 points to end at 82.215 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) was down 3.83% or 0.312 points to 7.824.
The top performers on the MDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 13.25% to 33.555, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was up 6.55% to settle at 102.025 and Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which gained 4.66% to close at 50.940.
The worst performers were Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was down 6.80% to 35.200 in late trade, Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which lost 5.03% to settle at 53.67 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was down 4.67% to 8.8140 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 13.25% to 33.555, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was up 11.73% to settle at 21.140 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which gained 6.55% to close at 102.025.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 5.01% to 82.215 in late trade, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which lost 4.31% to settle at 148.90 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was down 4.11% to 15.765 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 389 to 274 and 76 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.39% or 23.75 to $1686.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 5.70% or 1.40 to hit $23.16 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 6.88% or 2.13 to trade at $28.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.0807, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 100.127.
