The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which rose 1.49% or 0.66 points to trade at 45.05 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) added 1.26% or 0.114 points to end at 9.146 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) was up 1.17% or 1.040 points to 90.025 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn), which fell 8.63% or 19.05 points to trade at 201.80 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) declined 6.21% or 3.077 points to end at 46.443 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was down 5.27% or 0.377 points to 6.778.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 2.50% to 57.500, Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) which was up 0.74% to settle at 37.000 and Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which gained 0.62% to close at 72.850.
The worst performers were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was down 7.46% to 3.374 in late trade, CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which lost 7.06% to settle at 37.940 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was down 5.91% to 9.1460 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 2.50% to 57.500, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was up 2.35% to settle at 217.50 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which gained 1.17% to close at 90.025.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 5.35% to 8.498 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 4.25% to settle at 78.380 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 3.63% to 75.700 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 496 to 203 and 42 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.88% to 36.64.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.00% or 17.05 to $1696.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 15.80% or 2.38 to hit $17.44 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 4.37% or 1.06 to trade at $25.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.0938, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8695.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 99.112.
