The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were AP Eagers Ltd (ASX:APE), which rose 25.67% or 1.05 points to trade at 5.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Nearmap Ltd (ASX:NEA) added 18.22% or 0.235 points to end at 1.525 and Worleyparsons Ltd (ASX:WOR) was up 17.34% or 1.33 points to 9.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Netwealth Group Ltd (ASX:NWL), which fell 4.65% or 0.37 points to trade at 7.59 at the close. Saracen Mineral Holdings Ltd (ASX:SAR) declined 3.56% or 0.16 points to end at 4.34 and AusNet Services Ltd (ASX:AST) was down 3.38% or 0.065 points to 1.860.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 941 to 321 and 311 ended unchanged.
The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 11.10% to 26.001.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.21% or 20.65 to $1734.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 10.36% or 1.56 to hit $16.62 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 5.28% or 1.28 to trade at $25.51 a barrel.
AUD/USD was up 0.00% to 0.6555, while AUD/JPY fell 0.11% to 69.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.00% at 99.648.
