The best performers of the session on the DAX were Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG), which rose 4.96% or 7.91 points to trade at 167.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) added 4.48% or 3.65 points to end at 85.08 and BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) was up 4.45% or 2.007 points to 47.140 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 25.48% or 33.785 points to trade at 98.795 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) declined 0.83% or 1.170 points to end at 139.030 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was down 0.82% or 0.590 points to 71.310.
The top performers on the MDAX were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which rose 13.06% to 9.2300, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 9.85% to settle at 79.860 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which gained 5.31% to close at 3.433.
The worst performers were Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 7.00% to 43.98 in late trade, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which lost 3.63% to settle at 132.600 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 2.66% to 89.650 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 9.85% to 79.860, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 4.60% to settle at 22.720 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which gained 4.20% to close at 16.490.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 25.48% to 98.795 in late trade, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which lost 3.63% to settle at 132.600 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 2.66% to 89.650 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 420 to 242 and 76 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.35% to 35.41 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.16% or 2.70 to $1721.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.56% or 0.20 to hit $12.98 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.21% or 0.28 to trade at $22.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.0831, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 99.948.
