Chevrolet is an iconic American brand with a reputation of reliability and value that’s more than a century old. Whether you’re a die-hard Chevy loyalist or you just need a dependable new car, Chevrolet offers a variety of affordable options in almost every automotive segment.
Here are the seven most affordable Chevrolets for 2020. The price you see by each model is the starting MSRP before destination charges or tax and title fees.
2020 Chevrolet Camaro – $25,000
The Chevy Camaro
The iconic Chevrolet Camaro is very competitively priced, with the lowest starting price out of the trio of American muscle coupes (the other two being the Ford F, -2.73% Mustang and the Dodge Challenger). Going with the base Camaro used to mean making a compromise on performance, but the base engine for the 2020 model is a lively turbocharged 4-cylinder making 275 horsepower while returning up to 31 miles per gallon on the highway.
2020 Chevrolet Equinox — $23,800
The Chevy Equinox
The Chevrolet Equinox is another Chevy model with a super competitive starting price in its segment, undercutting the likes of the Honda CR-V HMC, -1.32% and the Toyota RAV4 TM, -2.32% by a decent margin. Some of the many virtues of the Equinox include great fuel economy, agile handling and one of the best infotainment systems in the business. For 2020, the Equinox gets more standard driver assistance features like lane-keeping assist, forward automatic emergency braking and more.
2020 Chevrolet Malibu — $22,095
Par for the course for Chevy, the Chevrolet Malibu is a midsize sedan that undercuts most competitors on price without compromising on quality. We think this is one of the best-looking family sedans in its competitive segment, and its comfortable ride and great fuel economy make it even more appealing. We especially like the available 2.0-liter turbocharged engine in the Malibu, but it’s only available in the top Premier trim, which is a worthwhile upgrade if your budget allows it.

2020 Chevrolet Colorado —$21,300
The Chevy Colorado
The Chevrolet Colorado is a leader in the midsize pickup truck segment for its impressive range of engines, including the Duramax turbo-diesel and a class-leading maximum tow rating. This truck gets a slight update for 2020 with more standard and available features, including the more modern Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, replacing the MyLink system. Whether you need a truck for the work site or you just want a tough truck for daily driving, the Colorado is a great choice.

2020 Chevrolet Trax — $21,300
The Chevrolet Trax is the most affordable Chevy SUV for the 2020 model year. The subcompact Trax is very maneuverable, making it easy to drive and park in the city, and it has a great, user-friendly standard infotainment system that is updated for this year. It’s also worth noting that this is the most affordable Chevy with available all-wheel drive, which gives you confidence-inspiring all-season traction that’s great for when the roads get nasty.

2020 Chevrolet Sonic — $16,720
The Chevy Sonic
The Chevrolet Sonic is a surprisingly fun-to-drive little subcompact car with a standard turbocharged engine that has a nice kick to it. The Sonic is available as a sedan or a hatchback, with the sedan having the lower starting price since the base LS trim isn’t available as a hatch. One of the great things about the Sonic is that you can go way up to the range-topping Premier trim with 17-in alloy wheels, heated leatherette seats and a heated steering wheel while only being in the low-$20k range.

2020 Chevrolet Spark — $13,220
The Chevrolet Spark
The most affordable Chevy of 2020 is the Chevrolet Spark. The Spark is a subcompact hatchback that is smaller than the Sonic, which gives it fantastic maneuverability, making it a great city car. The Spark is great on gas and it comes with a generous list of standard features for its segment and price tag, which includes a 7-in infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple AAPL, -2.07% CarPlay, two USB ports and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Like the Sonic, you can get a fully loaded model that’s packed with features while still keeping the price very reasonable.

Honorable Mention: 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer — $19,000
The Chevrolet Trailblazer
We couldn’t really count this one in our most affordable Chevrolets “for 2020” list, since it’s a 2021 model, but it’s worth mentioning since it’s available in the 2020 calendar year and it’s Chevy’s new most affordable SUV. If you’re familiar with the old Chevy Trailblazer of the 2000s, forget everything you knew, because this subcompact crossover is completely different from its predecessor. The new Trailblazer’s aesthetic draws clear inspiration from the midsize 2020 Chevy Blazer but in a smaller, more affordable, more efficient package.
