The 2020 Masters Tournament was scheduled to be played on April 9-12, but had recently been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Augusta National Golf Club, where the Masters is played, announced the tournament will be moved to November 9-15 of this year. As of now, fans are expected at the event.

“We want to emphasize that our future plans are incumbent upon favorable counsel and direction from health officials,” said Fred Ridley, Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club, in a statement at Masters.com. “Provided that occurs and we can conduct the 2020 Masters, we intend to invite those professionals and amateurs who would have qualified for our original April date and welcome all existing ticket holders to enjoy the excitement of Masters week.”

This will be the first time since 1946 that the Masters will not take place on the first full week in April. The 1946 Masters was moved and later resumed after World War II.

Tiger Woods won the 2019 Masters tournament — his first Masters victory since 2005.
