Key Words: ‘Stay home!’ say Max and Mel Brooks, Arnold Schwarzenegger and his tiny horses

If you weren’t taking the coronavirus outbreak seriously before, now even Arnold Schwarzenegger wants you to skip the gym.

The “Terminator” star and former California governor posted a public service announcement to his official Twitter TWTR, -17.92%  account on Sunday night — starring his two adorable tiny horses, to boot — urging people to just stay home for the time being.

The viral video shows him sitting in a kitchen with his mini pony, Whiskey, and his donkey, Lulu — and wearing a “Terminator” t-shirt, because of course — as he tells his followers to hunker down amid the coronavirus outbreak.

“Oh yeah, that’s yummy,” he says, feeding carrots to the tiny horses. “We stay home and we eat here.” Watch it here:

On Monday afternoon, apocalyptic author Max Brooks, son of comedy icon Mel Brooks, also shared a lighthearted PSA calling on people to practice social distancing.

“World War Z” author Max is shown standing outside, separated from Mel Brooks by what appears to be a sliding glass door. “If I get the coronavirus, I’ll probably be OK, but if I give it to him, he could give it to Carl Reiner, who can give it to Dick Van Dyke. And before I know it, I’ve whipped out a whole generation of comic legends,” says Max. “When it comes to coronavirus, I have to think about who I can infect. And so should you.” He tweeted the 50-second clip with the hashtag #DontBeASpreader.

On Sunday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom called for all state residents age 65 and older, as well as those people with chronic conditions, to isolate themselves at home. Monday saw the rest of the country stepping up COVID-19 containment measures. And Schwarzenegger, who is 72, agrees with that advice.

“See that’s what we do. We don’t go out, we don’t go to restaurants, we don’t do anything like that anymore here,” Schwarzenegger says in his video. “We just eat with Whiskey and with Lulu. We have a good time. We get entertained.”

“No more restaurants. Forget all that. Public gatherings, restaurants and all the gymnasiums are out the window. We stay home.”

An increasing number of states and cities have also imposed restrictions on public life to get people to self-isolate in an attempt to fight the spread of the COVID-19 virus. New York City is shutting down its nightlife, and limiting bars and restaurants to solely providing takeout and delivery service. The CDC has called for all gatherings of 50 or more people to be canceled or postponed for the next eight weeks. And President Trump went so far as to recommend Americans avoid gatherings of more than 10 people on Monday.

This comes among reports of many Americans failing to heed the call to socially isolate, which could flatten the curve of the coronavirus outbreak. Images of people packing bars and restaurants and parks spread over the weekend, instead.

Schwarzenegger tweeted his video with the message, “Stay home as much as possible. Listen to the experts, ignore the morons … We will get through this together.”

Both clips have certainly helped to keep many people entertained online, and provided an adorable escape as the number of coronavirus cases continues to spread, resulting in stocks skidding as businesses like Apple AAPL, -12.86%  and Nike NKE, -11.63% shutting their stores. The video, which runs just over a minute-and-a-half long, also shows the action star hugging and kissing Whiskey and Lulu.

“Oh yes, yummies,” he says, feeding them more carrots. “Don’t we have a good time eating here together? So much more fun than going outside.”

He even made a screenshot of himself hugging the little horses as his Twitter profile pic.

“This photo alone should be the cure” to the coronavirus, wrote on viewer.

“Arnold says, ‘Keep your a—es in the house!” cracked another.
