Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Tokyo, the declined 6.02% to hit a new 3-years low.

The best performers of the session on the were Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corp (T:), which rose 3.48% or 21.0 points to trade at 625.2 at the close. Meanwhile, Tokyo Dome Corp. (T:) added 1.42% or 10.0 points to end at 716.0 and Astellas Pharma Inc. (T:) was up 1.22% or 19.0 points to 1579.0 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. (T:), which fell 14.68% or 174.0 points to trade at 1011.0 at the close. Sumitomo Realty & Development Co. (T:) declined 13.38% or 397.0 points to end at 2571.0 and Inpex Corp. (T:) was down 12.15% or 82.4 points to 596.0.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 3665 to 124 and 26 ended unchanged.

Shares in Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. (T:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 14.68% or 174.0 to 1011.0. Shares in Sumitomo Realty & Development Co. (T:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 13.38% or 397.0 to 2571.0. Shares in Inpex Corp. (T:) fell to all time lows; down 12.15% or 82.4 to 596.0.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 51.48 a new 5-year high.

Crude oil for April delivery was up 3.90% or 1.23 to $32.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 3.61% or 1.20 to hit $34.42 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 2.00 to trade at $1588.30 a troy ounce.

USD/JPY was up 1.16% to 105.84, while EUR/JPY rose 1.19% to 118.41.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 97.495.
