Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.77%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 0.77%, while the index climbed 0.44%, and the index gained 1.70%.

The best performers of the session on the were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:), which rose 6.54% or 0.577 points to trade at 9.405 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:) added 4.80% or 0.234 points to end at 5.105 and Wirecard AG (DE:) was up 4.47% or 3.840 points to 89.700 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:), which fell 3.69% or 5.90 points to trade at 154.10 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:) declined 1.77% or 0.76 points to end at 42.23 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:) was down 1.72% or 0.550 points to 31.345.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aareal Bank AG (DE:) which rose 10.84% to 19.070, RTL Group SA (DE:) which was up 10.70% to settle at 32.900 and Software AG (DE:) which gained 7.16% to close at 24.700.

The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) which was down 7.12% to 24.385 in late trade, Fraport AG (DE:) which lost 6.83% to settle at 36.475 and CTS Eventim AG (DE:) which was down 6.34% to 33.680 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Software AG (DE:) which rose 7.16% to 24.700, Siltronic AG (DE:) which was up 5.95% to settle at 58.360 and Wirecard AG (DE:) which gained 4.47% to close at 89.700.

The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) which was down 7.12% to 24.385 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:) which lost 1.85% to settle at 1.861 and RIB Software AG Na (DE:) which was down 0.36% to 27.900 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 416 to 292 and 32 ended unchanged.

Shares in MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.69% or 5.90 to 154.10. Shares in Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 1.72% or 0.550 to 31.345. Shares in Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.12% or 1.870 to 24.385. Shares in Fraport AG (DE:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.83% or 2.675 to 36.475. Shares in CTS Eventim AG (DE:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.34% or 2.280 to 33.680. Shares in Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.12% or 1.870 to 24.385. Shares in Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:) fell to all time lows; losing 1.85% or 0.035 to 1.861.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.99% to 74.29 a new all time high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 3.70% or 58.85 to $1531.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.75% or 0.55 to hit $32.05 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 3.16% or 1.05 to trade at $34.27 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.85% to 1.1088, while EUR/GBP rose 1.08% to 0.8989.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.14% at 98.573.
