Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NSE, the lost 0.50%, while the index fell 0.49%.

The best performers of the session on the were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:), which rose 5.38% or 2.00 points to trade at 39.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:) added 4.38% or 23.65 points to end at 563.60 and UPL Ltd (NS:) was up 2.46% or 14.25 points to 593.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were GAIL Ltd (NS:), which fell 5.49% or 7.15 points to trade at 123.15 at the close. Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:) declined 5.45% or 13.35 points to end at 231.50 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:) was down 3.72% or 45.75 points to 1185.00.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which rose 4.69% to 565.10, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which was up 1.42% to settle at 621.40 and ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:) which gained 0.90% to close at 545.85.

The worst performers were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was down 4.38% to 1176.35 in late trade, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:) which lost 3.26% to settle at 184.15 and State Bank Of India (BO:) which was down 2.41% to 319.55 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1024 to 521 and 80 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1540 fell and 858 advanced, while 160 ended unchanged.

Shares in Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:) rose to all time highs; up 4.38% or 23.65 to 563.60. Shares in IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.72% or 45.75 to 1185.00. Shares in Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) rose to all time highs; rising 4.69% or 25.30 to 565.10. Shares in IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 4.38% or 53.85 to 1176.35. Shares in HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.42% or 8.70 to 621.40.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.83% to 13.6150.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.25 to $1578.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.24% or 0.64 to hit $52.06 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.35% or 0.76 to trade at $57.10 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.06% to 71.366, while EUR/INR rose 0.08% to 77.3750.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 98.993.
