Duke Energy announced earnings per share of $0.91 on revenue of $6.10B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $0.87 on revenue of $6.27B. That with comparison to EPS of $0.84 on revenue of $6.12B in the same period a year before. Duke Energy had reported EPS of $1.79 on revenue of $6.94B in the previous quarter. Analysts are expecting EPS of $1.21 and revenue of $6.15B in the upcoming quarter.
Duke Energy shares are up 7.36% from the beginning of the year , still down 0.33% from its 52 week high of $98.24 set on February 12. They are outperforming the S&P 500 which is up 4.15% year to date.

Duke Energy’s report follows an earnings missed by NextEra Energy on January 24, who reported EPS of $1.44 on revenue of $4.59B, compared to forecasts EPS of $1.48 on revenue of $4,631M.
Dominion Energy had beat expectations on Tuesday with fourth quarter EPS of $1.18 on revenue of $4.48B, compared to forecast for EPS of $1.15 on revenue of $4.52B.
