The worst performers of the session were NTT Data Corp. (T:), which fell 7.00% or 110.0 points to trade at 1462.0 at the close. Tobu Railway Co., Ltd. (T:) declined 3.61% or 140.0 points to end at 3735.0 and Kao Corp. (T:) was down 2.07% or 181.0 points to 8581.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2580 to 974 and 219 ended unchanged.

USD/JPY was down 0.16% to 109.33, while EUR/JPY fell 0.20% to 120.69.
