Investing.com – Israel stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the gained 1.67%.
The best performers of the session on the were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:), which rose 8.91% or 330 points to trade at 4033 at the close. Meanwhile, Strauss Group (TASE:) added 5.06% or 500 points to end at 10380 and Shapir Engineering Industry (TASE:) was up 4.21% or 100 points to 2473 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Israel Corp (TASE:), which fell 3.25% or 1800 points to trade at 53590 at the close. Harel (TASE:) declined 2.81% or 66 points to end at 2283 and Phoenix Holdings Ltd (TASE:) was down 2.71% or 50 points to 1795.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 257 to 133 and 139 ended unchanged.
Shares in Israel Corp (TASE:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.25% or 1800 to 53590. Shares in Phoenix Holdings Ltd (TASE:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.71% or 50 to 1795.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.22% or 0.61 to $50.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.37% or 0.74 to hit $54.95 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.81% or 28.60 to trade at $1554.65 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.15% to 3.4457, while EUR/ILS rose 0.02% to 3.8053.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 97.790.
