Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the added 0.59% to hit a new all time high, while the index added 0.62%.

The best performers of the session on the were Infosys Ltd (NS:), which rose 4.65% or 34.35 points to trade at 773.55 at the close. Meanwhile, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:) added 3.67% or 54.75 points to end at 1539.65 and Coal India Ltd (NS:) was up 3.07% or 6.30 points to 211.55 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:), which fell 5.81% or 2.60 points to trade at 42.10 at the close. UPL Ltd (NS:) declined 1.18% or 7.10 points to end at 591.95 and Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:) was down 1.18% or 2.95 points to 246.45.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Infosys Ltd (BO:) which rose 4.76% to 773.40, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was up 3.34% to settle at 1540.45 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which gained 2.55% to close at 468.85.

The worst performers were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:) which was down 1.03% to 2191.00 in late trade, State Bank Of India (BO:) which lost 0.50% to settle at 330.60 and Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:) which was down 0.38% to 3091.30 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1026 to 534 and 82 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1485 rose and 936 declined, while 163 ended unchanged.

Shares in Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.55% or 11.65 to 468.85.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.40% to 14.2750.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.54% or 8.45 to $1551.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $59.05 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $64.94 a barrel.

USD/INR was down 0.15% to 70.840, while EUR/INR fell 0.15% to 78.7565.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 97.213.
