Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.24%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 0.24%, while the index lost 0.23%, and the index lost 0.37%.

The best performers of the session on the were Wirecard AG (DE:), which rose 2.43% or 2.700 points to trade at 113.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:) added 1.10% or 0.235 points to end at 21.655 and Vonovia SE (DE:) was up 0.55% or 0.27 points to 49.21 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (DE:), which fell 2.61% or 3.10 points to trade at 115.90 at the close. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:) declined 1.99% or 0.315 points to end at 15.500 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:) was down 1.49% or 0.115 points to 7.580.

The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:) which rose 2.32% to 12.145, Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:) which was up 2.09% to settle at 17.120 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:) which gained 1.79% to close at 8.090.

The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:) which was down 13.82% to 81.100 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:) which lost 9.25% to settle at 123.600 and Siltronic AG (DE:) which was down 3.60% to 87.900 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:) which rose 3.52% to 10.035, Wirecard AG (DE:) which was up 2.43% to settle at 113.600 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) which gained 1.48% to close at 48.100.

The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:) which was down 13.82% to 81.100 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:) which lost 9.25% to settle at 123.600 and Siltronic AG (DE:) which was down 3.60% to 87.900 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 380 to 296 and 76 ended unchanged.

Shares in Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.10% or 0.235 to 21.655. Shares in Vonovia SE (DE:) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.55% or 0.27 to 49.21. Shares in Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:) rose to all time highs; rising 2.09% or 0.350 to 17.120. Shares in Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:) rose to all time highs; up 1.79% or 0.142 to 8.090. Shares in Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.48% or 0.700 to 48.100.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.61% or 9.55 to $1550.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.02% or 0.60 to hit $58.44 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.51 to trade at $64.47 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1142, while EUR/GBP rose 0.70% to 0.8574.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 97.050.
