Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.71%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the added 0.71%, while the index added 0.32%, and the index added 0.24%.

The best performers of the session on the were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:), which rose 3.38% or 0.251 points to trade at 7.685 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (DE:) added 2.75% or 8.10 points to end at 302.85 and Bayer AG NA (DE:) was up 2.59% or 1.87 points to 74.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:), which fell 0.86% or 0.570 points to trade at 65.730 at the close. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:) declined 0.40% or 0.058 points to end at 14.548 and Wirecard AG (DE:) was down 0.09% or 0.100 points to 111.750.

The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:) which rose 3.15% to 90.280, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 2.43% to settle at 63.150 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:) which gained 2.30% to close at 129.100.

The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:) which was down 21.77% to 92.000 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (DE:) which lost 2.48% to settle at 64.750 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:) which was down 1.44% to 36.200 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:) which rose 3.27% to 9.104, Siltronic AG (DE:) which was up 3.15% to settle at 90.280 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which gained 2.43% to close at 63.150.

The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:) which was down 21.77% to 92.000 in late trade, RIB Software AG Na (DE:) which lost 5.49% to settle at 19.470 and Drillisch AG (DE:) which was down 1.59% to 22.260 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 403 to 279 and 69 ended unchanged.

Shares in Adidas AG (DE:) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.75% or 8.10 to 302.85. Shares in Bayer AG NA (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.59% or 1.87 to 74.00. Shares in Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.43% or 1.500 to 63.150. Shares in Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.43% or 1.500 to 63.150.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.46% to 14.83.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.87% or 13.75 to $1560.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 5.09% or 3.19 to hit $59.51 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 4.38% or 2.99 to trade at $65.28 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1113, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8484.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 96.985.
