Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the added 0.76%, while the index gained 0.33%, and the index added 1.19%.

The best performers of the session on the were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:), which rose 4.96% or 0.995 points to trade at 21.040 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:) added 3.47% or 0.249 points to end at 7.434 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:) was up 2.49% or 1.580 points to 65.160 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE NA (DE:), which fell 0.72% or 0.068 points to trade at 9.400 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:) declined 0.32% or 0.56 points to end at 176.06 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:) was down 0.24% or 0.250 points to 105.750.

The top performers on the MDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) which rose 2.84% to 46.280, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 2.53% to settle at 22.700 and United Internet AG NA (DE:) which gained 2.27% to close at 30.140.

The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (DE:) which was down 3.21% to 66.400 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (DE:) which lost 2.22% to settle at 66.00 and Osram Licht AG (DE:) which was down 1.22% to 44.55 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:) which rose 4.96% to 21.040, Aixtron SE (DE:) which was up 4.33% to settle at 8.816 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) which gained 2.84% to close at 46.280.

The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:) which was down 1.03% to 11.520 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:) which lost 1.01% to settle at 117.600 and Qiagen NV (DE:) which was down 0.13% to 29.800 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 463 to 212 and 74 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.76% to 15.05.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.27% or 4.25 to $1573.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.09% or 0.69 to hit $62.58 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 0.83 to trade at $68.08 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1145, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8486.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 96.692.
