Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the lost 0.91%, while the index lost 0.82%.

The best performers of the session on the were TechnipFMC PLC (NYSE:), which rose 2.48% or 0.52 points to trade at 21.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:) added 0.46% or 0.110 points to end at 23.980 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:) was up 0.17% or 0.25 points to 147.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:), which fell 3.05% or 4.25 points to trade at 134.90 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:) declined 2.46% or 3.28 points to end at 130.00 and Safran SA (PA:) was down 1.97% or 2.75 points to 137.10.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (PA:) which rose 3.86% to 2.905, TechnipFMC PLC (NYSE:) which was up 2.48% to settle at 21.46 and Eramet SA (PA:) which gained 2.13% to close at 45.61.

The worst performers were EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:) which was down 3.05% to 134.90 in late trade, Soitec SA (PA:) which lost 2.56% to settle at 95.300 and Airbus Group SE (PA:) which was down 2.46% to 130.00 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 301 to 283 and 90 ended unchanged.

Shares in Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 0.46% or 0.110 to 23.980. Shares in CGG SA (PA:) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.86% or 0.108 to 2.905.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 13.46% to 13.43.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.00% or 0.05 to $1518.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $61.72 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.18 to trade at $66.69 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1211, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8546.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 96.355.
