Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.89%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 0.89%, while the index added 0.15%, and the index declined 0.85%.

The best performers of the session on the were E.ON SE NA (DE:), which rose 1.48% or 0.141 points to trade at 9.676 at the close. Meanwhile, Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:) added 0.79% or 2.10 points to end at 267.30 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:) was up 0.68% or 0.180 points to 26.460 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were SAP SE (DE:), which fell 3.34% or 4.160 points to trade at 120.560 at the close. Wirecard AG (DE:) declined 2.65% or 2.850 points to end at 104.900 and BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:) was down 2.32% or 1.600 points to 67.250.

The top performers on the MDAX were Rheinmetall AG (DE:) which rose 3.10% to 102.500, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:) which was up 2.39% to settle at 115.600 and Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:) which gained 1.77% to close at 88.63.

The worst performers were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:) which was down 1.98% to 13.8350 in late trade, RTL Group SA (DE:) which lost 1.63% to settle at 43.540 and Brenntag AG (DE:) which was down 1.61% to 49.020 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:) which rose 2.39% to 115.600, Software AG (DE:) which was up 1.74% to settle at 32.200 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which gained 1.32% to close at 23.100.

The worst performers were RIB Software AG Na (DE:) which was down 4.43% to 22.000 in late trade, Medigene NA O.N. (DE:) which lost 4.22% to settle at 4.262 and SAP SE (DE:) which was down 3.34% to 120.560 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 408 to 262 and 87 ended unchanged.

Shares in Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.79% or 2.10 to 267.30. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:) rose to all time highs; rising 2.39% or 2.700 to 115.600. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:) rose to all time highs; rising 2.39% or 2.700 to 115.600.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.82% to 13.27.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.04% or 0.55 to $1481.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.23% or 0.74 to hit $60.88 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.27% or 0.83 to trade at $66.17 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1152, while EUR/GBP rose 1.69% to 0.8498.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 96.735.
