Consumers will have three additional days to sign up for the Affordable Care Act after reports of widespread technical problems.

People will have more time to sign up for health coverage on the federal Affordable Care Act exchange after some experienced problems using the website Sunday, Trump administration officials said.

The deadline is being extended three days, to Dec. 18, after some consumers said they experienced internal error messages, difficulties updating passwords, long waits on hold at the call center, and an inability to load the healthcare.gov webpage.

Democratic presidential candidates and lawmakers, along with advocates, had called for an extension.
