The worst performers of the session were Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (T:), which fell 3.23% or 70.0 points to trade at 2100.0 at the close. Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. (T:) declined 3.02% or 227.0 points to end at 7281.0 and Konami Corp. (T:) was down 2.72% or 125.0 points to 4470.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1864 to 1684 and 244 ended unchanged.
