President Trump on Friday tweeted that poll numbers in favor of “no impeachment” have “gone through the roof.” The whole thing is a “total hoax” and a “scam” that Nancy Pelosi started more than two years ago, he claimed.
Trump clearly wasn’t reading from his favorite network’s latest poll numbers, however, with Fox News revealing half of America is in favor of impeaching and removing the president — up from 49% in October.
Of course, the results break down along partisan lines, with 85% of Democrats in the pro-impeachment and removal camp and 84% of Republicans against it. The big move was in independents, with 45% supporting impeachment and removal, up 7 percentage points from October.
Trump’s love affair with Fox News is on increasingly shaky ground these days, with the president firing off tweets like this when he sees something he doesn’t like:

On a positive note for the president, his approval rating in the same poll has climbed by three points, with 45% of voters giving him a thumbs up, compared with 42% in October. Still, 53% disapprove of the job he’s doing in the White House.
The poll, which interviewed 1,000 randomly selected registered voters, was conducted from last Sunday through Wednesday.
