The worst performers of the session were Mayne Pharma Group Ltd (ASX:), which fell 11.01% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.485 at the close. Metcash Ltd (ASX:) declined 6.25% or 0.190 points to end at 2.850 and oOh!Media Ltd (ASX:) was down 5.03% or 0.150 points to 2.830.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 608 to 507 and 335 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 3.35 to $1466.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.72% or 0.42 to hit $58.16 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.66% or 0.42 to trade at $63.55 a barrel.
AUD/USD was up 0.05% to 0.6787, while AUD/JPY rose 0.04% to 73.72.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 97.810.
