Meanwhile, Rakuten Inc (T:) added 2.62% or 25.0 points to end at 981.0 and SKY Perfect JSAT Holdings Inc. (T:) was up 2.16% or 10.0 points to 472.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nippon Yusen K.K (T:), which fell 4.18% or 83.0 points to trade at 1905.0 at the close. T&D Holdings, Inc. (T:) declined 4.02% or 53.0 points to end at 1266.0 and JGC Corp. (T:) was down 3.71% or 63.0 points to 1633.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2168 to 1355 and 240 ended unchanged.
