The worst performers of the session were DIC Corp (T:), which fell 4.07% or 127.0 points to trade at 2993.0 at the close. Nippon Suisan Kaisha, Ltd. (T:) declined 3.40% or 23.0 points to end at 653.0 and Toray Industries, Inc. (T:) was down 3.31% or 25.5 points to 744.6.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2046 to 1486 and 224 ended unchanged.

USD/JPY was up 0.16% to 108.91, while EUR/JPY rose 0.23% to 120.47.
