The best performers of the session on the were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:), which rose 4.62% or 18.15 points to trade at 409.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Tata Steel Ltd (NS:) added 4.41% or 17.40 points to end at 410.05 and UPL Ltd (NS:) was up 3.71% or 19.70 points to 549.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:), which fell 4.29% or 2.95 points to trade at 65.85 at the close. Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:) declined 1.96% or 63.10 points to end at 3156.90 and Britannia Industries Ltd (NS:) was down 1.67% or 53.45 points to 3140.90.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which rose 4.06% to 409.15, Tata Steel Ltd (BO:) which was up 4.01% to settle at 410.20 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:) which gained 2.28% to close at 424.35.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:) which was down 4.08% to 65.90 in late trade, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.69% to settle at 3157.40 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which was down 1.61% to 573.15 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 859 to 718 and 69 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1335 fell and 1100 advanced, while 201 ended unchanged.
