Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.26%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the fell 0.26%, while the index gained 0.15%, and the index added 0.67%.

The best performers of the session on the were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:), which rose 3.70% or 0.950 points to trade at 26.660 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (DE:) added 2.05% or 0.96 points to end at 47.83 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:) was up 1.34% or 0.880 points to 66.780 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:), which fell 4.10% or 7.52 points to trade at 175.94 at the close. Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:) declined 1.84% or 1.370 points to end at 73.180 and Covestro AG (DE:) was down 1.83% or 0.820 points to 44.050.

The top performers on the MDAX were Qiagen NV (DE:) which rose 8.34% to 36.9000, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 7.47% to settle at 102.2000 and Leoni AG (DE:) which gained 3.40% to close at 12.175.

The worst performers were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:) which was down 5.18% to 10.810 in late trade, Duerr AG (DE:) which lost 2.42% to settle at 28.260 and Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:) which was down 2.31% to 22.800 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Qiagen NV (DE:) which rose 8.50% to 36.955, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 7.15% to settle at 101.900 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:) which gained 2.41% to close at 57.400.

The worst performers were SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:) which was down 4.18% to 14.66 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (DE:) which lost 2.37% to settle at 27.220 and S&T AG (DE:) which was down 1.95% to 21.08 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 404 to 280 and 76 ended unchanged.

Shares in Qiagen NV (DE:) rose to all time highs; rising 8.34% or 2.8400 to 36.9000. Shares in K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.18% or 0.590 to 10.810. Shares in Qiagen NV (DE:) rose to all time highs; gaining 8.50% or 2.895 to 36.955. Shares in Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.41% or 1.350 to 57.400.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.44% to 13.64.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.26% or 3.75 to $1472.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.83% or 1.06 to hit $56.77 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.86% or 1.18 to trade at $62.12 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1081, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8547.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 97.618.
