- Shares of Disney (NYSE:) jumped sharply after the announcement, rising 3.2% in midday trading.
- Wall Street was looking for about 8 million subscribers for the first day.
- Disney is offering a one-week free trial of the service, so not all current subscribers will convert to paying memberships.
