Unilever PLC said Wednesday that Chairman Marijn Dekkers is stepping down from the board with immediate effect, and that Nils Andersen will replace him.
The Dutch consumer giant ULVR, -0.35% UN, -0.62% which houses Dove, Hellmann’s, Marmite and Ben & Jerry’s among its brands, said Dekkers is stepping down to focus on his responsibilities as founder and chairman of Novalis LifeSciences. He will continue to serve as a nonexecutive director of Unilever.
Dekkers was appointed as chairman in April 2016.
Andersen is currently a nonexecutive director and has been on the board since April 2015.
