Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.46%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 0.46%, while the index fell 0.56%, and the index declined 0.41%.

The best performers of the session on the were Merck KGaA (DE:), which rose 1.53% or 1.65 points to trade at 109.55 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:) added 1.00% or 0.260 points to end at 26.180 and Linde PLC (DE:) was up 0.99% or 1.800 points to 184.100 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:), which fell 3.53% or 4.250 points to trade at 116.050 at the close. Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:) declined 2.71% or 6.10 points to end at 219.00 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:) was down 2.45% or 0.474 points to 18.836.

The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:) which rose 2.76% to 13.01, Freenet AG NA (DE:) which was up 2.48% to settle at 21.4900 and Software AG (DE:) which gained 1.96% to close at 30.140.

The worst performers were Rheinmetall AG (DE:) which was down 6.93% to 104.750 in late trade, Leoni AG (DE:) which lost 4.13% to settle at 12.665 and Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:) which was down 3.51% to 23.620 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:) which rose 9.34% to 29.040, Freenet AG NA (DE:) which was up 2.48% to settle at 21.490 and Software AG (DE:) which gained 1.96% to close at 30.140.

The worst performers were New Work SE (DE:) which was down 3.74% to 270.00 in late trade, Wirecard AG (DE:) which lost 3.53% to settle at 116.050 and Siltronic AG (DE:) which was down 2.80% to 84.800 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 392 to 276 and 90 ended unchanged.

Shares in Merck KGaA (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.53% or 1.65 to 109.55. Shares in Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.76% or 0.35 to 13.01. Shares in Freenet AG NA (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.48% or 0.5200 to 21.4900. Shares in Freenet AG NA (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.48% or 0.520 to 21.490.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.50% to 13.95.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.31% or 4.55 to $1461.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.16% or 0.09 to hit $57.24 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.31% or 0.19 to trade at $62.48 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1019, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8627.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 98.240.
