President Donald Trump on Thursday denied a report he wanted Attorney General William Barr to publicly declare he didn’t break any laws during a call with Ukraine’s president.
Trump said on Twitter that the Washington Post “MADE UP the story about me asking Bill Barr to hold a news conference.”
The Post reported Barr declined a request from Trump after a rough transcript of a call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was released.
Trump has insisted he did nothing wrong on the call, as Democrats investigate his pressure on Ukraine to probe political rivals.
