Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the added 1.07%, while the index added 1.17%.

The best performers of the session on the were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:), which rose 15.47% or 6.35 points to trade at 47.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Tata Motors Ltd (NS:) added 13.27% or 16.70 points to end at 139.50 and Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:) was up 7.96% or 1529.40 points to 20491.85 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vedanta Ltd (NS:), which fell 0.97% or 1.45 points to trade at 148.30 at the close. Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:) declined 0.73% or 5.35 points to end at 724.55 and HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:) was down 1.06% or 11.70 points to 1093.05.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:) which rose 15.19% to 47.40, Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:) which was up 10.72% to settle at 61.95 and Tata Motors Ltd (BO:) which gained 9.82% to close at 138.15.

The worst performers were Vedanta Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.04% to 148.15 in late trade, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.04% to settle at 1089.45 and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:) which was down 0.50% to 197.70 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 971 to 587 and 77 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1357 rose and 1022 declined, while 181 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.95% to 15.8775.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.28% or 4.15 to $1489.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.45% or 0.24 to hit $53.12 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.25% or 0.15 to trade at $59.27 a barrel.

USD/INR was down 0.21% to 71.200, while EUR/INR rose 0.15% to 79.1065.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 97.438.
