Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.32%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the gained 0.32% to hit a new 52-week high, while the index climbed 0.13%, and the index declined 0.15%.

The best performers of the session on the were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:), which rose 3.12% or 5.14 points to trade at 169.78 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:) added 2.38% or 1.030 points to end at 44.320 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:) was up 2.14% or 5.10 points to 243.10 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:), which fell 2.34% or 3.400 points to trade at 142.100 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:) declined 1.88% or 0.320 points to end at 16.672 and Adidas AG (DE:) was down 1.74% or 5.00 points to 281.60.

The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:) which rose 4.64% to 13.190, Leoni AG (DE:) which was up 4.13% to settle at 11.850 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:) which gained 3.15% to close at 42.26.

The worst performers were Brenntag AG (DE:) which was down 3.47% to 43.060 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:) which lost 2.82% to settle at 168.800 and Stroeer SE (DE:) which was down 2.03% to 69.900 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:) which rose 2.57% to 9.5160, Bechtle AG (DE:) which was up 2.13% to settle at 98.500 and RIB Software AG Na (DE:) which gained 1.94% to close at 22.080.

The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:) which was down 2.82% to 168.800 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:) which lost 2.42% to settle at 50.350 and Medigene NA O.N. (DE:) which was down 1.93% to 5.855 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 350 to 325 and 82 ended unchanged.

Shares in Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.12% or 5.14 to 169.78. Shares in RIB Software AG Na (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.94% or 0.420 to 22.080.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.02% to 15.14.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.60% or 8.85 to $1492.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.34% or 0.71 to hit $53.52 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 0.81 to trade at $59.55 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1079, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8621.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 97.657.
