Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the added 0.32%, while the index climbed 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the were Tata Motors Ltd (NS:), which rose 5.03% or 6.10 points to trade at 127.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:) added 5.50% or 7.10 points to end at 135.25 and Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:) was up 2.62% or 10.05 points to 393.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infosys Ltd (NS:), which fell 3.50% or 28.50 points to trade at 786.10 at the close. Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:) declined 2.65% or 105.20 points to end at 3883.30 and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:) was down 1.00% or 2.00 points to 198.40.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Motors Ltd (BO:) which rose 5.32% to 127.80, Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:) which was up 4.74% to settle at 56.40 and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:) which gained 4.73% to close at 135.20.
The worst performers were Infosys Ltd (BO:) which was down 3.68% to 785.65 in late trade, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:) which lost 2.37% to settle at 3881.65 and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.09% to 198.80 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 808 to 760 and 73 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1247 fell and 1157 advanced, while 202 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.62% or 10.05 to 393.55.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.69% to 17.4300.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.74% or 10.95 to $1499.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.29% or 1.25 to hit $53.45 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.28% or 1.38 to trade at $59.13 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.33% to 71.147, while EUR/INR rose 0.33% to 78.5150.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 98.132.
