The worst performers of the session were Dentsu Inc. (T:), which fell 3.57% or 135.0 points to trade at 3645.0 at the close. SUMCO Corp. (T:) declined 3.42% or 51.0 points to end at 1442.0 and Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (T:) was down 3.04% or 29.0 points to 925.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1679 to 1678 and 254 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sekisui House, Ltd. (T:) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.77% or 38.5 to 2209.0.

USD/JPY was up 0.11% to 107.19, while EUR/JPY rose 0.35% to 117.69.
