Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the fell 1.18%, while the index fell 1.19%.

The best performers of the session on the were Thales (PA:), which rose 0.45% or 0.44 points to trade at 98.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (PA:) added 0.41% or 0.48 points to end at 117.70 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:) was up 0.04% or 0.05 points to 133.05 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:), which fell 3.30% or 1.15 points to trade at 33.59 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) declined 3.14% or 0.382 points to end at 11.800 and Schneider Electric SE (PA:) was down 2.87% or 2.22 points to 75.12.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rothschild & Co SCA (PA:) which rose 1.40% to 25.300, Nexity (PA:) which was up 0.93% to settle at 41.16 and Thales (PA:) which gained 0.45% to close at 98.98.

The worst performers were DBV Technologies (PA:) which was down 11.81% to 13.590 in late trade, Vicat (PA:) which lost 3.66% to settle at 36.90 and Imerys SA (PA:) which was down 3.65% to 33.76 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 440 to 137 and 83 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vicat (PA:) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.66% or 1.40 to 36.90. Shares in Imerys SA (PA:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.65% or 1.28 to 33.76.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 7.15% to 18.97.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.08% or 1.20 to $1505.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.51% or 0.27 to hit $52.48 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.22 to trade at $58.13 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.0954, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.8966.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 98.863.
