Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 0.73%, while the index added 1.66%, and the index added 1.82%.

The best performers of the session on the were Bayer AG NA (DE:), which rose 2.74% or 1.66 points to trade at 62.28 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:) added 2.57% or 6.10 points to end at 243.00 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:) was up 2.32% or 0.640 points to 28.220 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:), which fell 3.20% or 0.460 points to trade at 13.935 at the close. Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:) declined 1.40% or 0.880 points to end at 61.840 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:) was down 1.31% or 0.086 points to 6.480.

The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which rose 5.25% to 45.740, United Internet AG NA (DE:) which was up 5.00% to settle at 33.600 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which gained 4.82% to close at 20.220.

The worst performers were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 2.28% to 4.918 in late trade, Duerr AG (DE:) which lost 2.28% to settle at 21.430 and Kion Group AG (DE:) which was down 1.44% to 45.33 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were New Work SE (DE:) which rose 5.91% to 260.00, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 5.25% to settle at 45.740 and United Internet AG NA (DE:) which gained 5.00% to close at 33.600.

The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (DE:) which was down 1.19% to 21.540 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:) which lost 0.92% to settle at 53.650 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:) which was down 0.10% to 10.220 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 442 to 245 and 70 ended unchanged.

Shares in Duerr AG (DE:) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.28% or 0.500 to 21.430.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 11.37% to 18.47.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.55 to $1513.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $52.37 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.23 to trade at $57.94 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.0985, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.8909.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 98.477.
