Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the lost 1.41%, while the index declined 1.34%.

The best performers of the session on the were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:), which rose 1.04% or 0.38 points to trade at 36.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:) added 0.57% or 0.09 points to end at 15.06 and Publicis Groupe SA (PA:) was up 0.42% or 0.19 points to 45.31 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (PA:), which fell 2.97% or 13.90 points to trade at 453.65 at the close. L’Oreal SA (PA:) declined 2.65% or 6.80 points to end at 250.10 and TechnipFMC PLC (PA:) was down 2.41% or 0.53 points to 21.48.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Air France KLM SA (PA:) which rose 2.23% to 9.816, Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:) which was up 1.45% to settle at 14.710 and Metropole Television SA (PA:) which gained 1.33% to close at 15.25.

The worst performers were Genfit (PA:) which was down 4.76% to 14.010 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:) which lost 4.49% to settle at 2.319 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:) which was down 4.04% to 63.660 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 370 to 202 and 87 ended unchanged.

Shares in Engie SA (PA:) rose to 3-years highs; up 0.57% or 0.09 to 15.06.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 4.90% to 16.69.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.10% or 16.25 to $1489.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.15% or 0.62 to hit $53.45 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.48 to trade at $58.77 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.0937, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8877.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 98.752.
