No wonder Spider-Man fans have been climbing the walls.

Last month, Disney DIS, -1.28% and Sony SNE, -1.03% revealed that they were unable to reach a compromise that would let the Sony-owned Spider-Man franchise continue fighting alongside the Avengers. Actor Tom Holland, who current plays your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was just as freaked out as audiences, even as he assured fans at Philadelphia’s Keystone Comic Con that he would swinging back to the big screen in some form.

“There’s definitely more to come. We sat down with some of our creatives. We pitched ‘Spider-Man 3,’ which is going to be something very special. It’s going to be something very different,” he said, without elaborating more.

The good news is, the movie studios announced on Friday that they have reached a deal to keep Holland’s Spider-Man in the MCU. They even revealed a third movie expected to swing into theaters in July 2021.
